THE stunning daughter of Rangers legend Gordon Smith has given birth to her first child - and he is named after a rather famous footballer. 

Libby Smith delivered son Edson Thunder one week early on Tuesday morning.

The blonde beauty told her fans on social media that her dad Gordon choose the child's name.

She said: "Born this morning at 10:56am, my 7lbs 1.5oz boy of absolute perfection.
"Edson Thunder, my dad named him after footballer Pele (as it’s actually his real name).

"I loved it as he played number 10 like my Dad did too. I cannot believe the love I feel already, completely smitten."

Edson is the real name of Brazil legend Pele who is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time.

The child's father also has a link to football as Logan Bailly previously played for Celtic. The goalkeeper joined Royal Excel Mouscron in the summer. 

Logan also shared a picture of the cute tot on social media.

Celebrity fans were quick to offer their congratulations to Libby. Celtic WAG and Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan, who is also due this month, said: "So happy for you my darling."

Libby, who is originally from Newton Mearns, was thrown into the spotlight when she auditioned for the X Factor in 2009 with girl band Accent.

She has kept fans up to date with her pregnany and previously said she planned to eat her own placenta.
