FIRE crews battled to save a Barmulloch close from damage after rubbish was set alight.
The rubbish at the rear of the Leadburn Road property was set on fire overnight, causing extensive damage to the building.
Residents raised the alarm at 0.25am this morning prompting three fire appliances to rush to the scene.
An eye witness told the Evening Times: "The fire started as someone lit rubbish alight near to the building."
