A TERRIFIED teenager was forced to run into oncoming traffic to escape a creep who chased her from a late-night bus.
The 15-year-old was on the First Glasgow 267 service from the city centre on Saturday night when the man targeted her as she left the bus at Glasgow Road, Rutherglen at around 11.15pm.

The man spoke to the schoolgirl and told her he was coming home with her. She, however, decided to run against the flow of traffic putting herself at risk to escape his clutches.
He fell in the central reservation area and the young girl was rescued by a woman who made sure she got to her home, which is two minutes from the bus stop.
The girl’s mother, who did not want to be named, said: “She was past her curfew and we were on the phone talking about that. She told me her phone battery was about to die and she would be home soon.
“The man heard this and actually moved seats to get closer to her in the bus. He didn’t start speaking to her, however, until she got off the bus. My daughter said he had been chatting to another girl on the bus too.”
She added: “He told her he was coming home with her when she got off the bus and she started to get scared. She waited until the cars were coming and she decided she was going to run in front of the cars.
“A silver car swerved to avoid her and he began chasing her. She can’t remember how she got off the central reservation but she looked back and he had fell.”
A woman at the other side of the road spoke to the teenager and walked her home to safety. The family then reported the incident to the police.
The Evening Times understands that officers have been reviewing CCTV images while the victim also went through e-fits of potential suspects.
The girl’s mother said: “I have three girls and I have always protected my children against stuff like this. My daughter was suppose to be in for her curfew and if she hadn’t been late she would have never been on the same bus as him.
“I want to thank the blonde haired lady who got my daughter to safety. I dread to think what would have happened if she was not there to help her.”
She added: “My daughter has not been out the door since the incident. Her school has been great as I have had to order taxis to take her to and from, and one of the campus police officers gave her a panic alarm.
“I hope he is caught before he rapes or murders an innoncent wee girl. He has to be caught.”
Police Scotland confirmed that they were investigating the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 11.50am on Saturday, June 9, police received a report of a man following a 15-year-old after she alighted from a bus in Rutherglen.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
