SCOTRAIL has been asked to consider compensating passengers hit by three weeks of disruption on a Glasgow line.
Services from Queen Street to Anniesland will terminate at Ashfield from Wednesday while Network Rail signalling equipment repairs are carried out at Cowlairs.
The works are expected to last until July 8.
ScotRail said it would operate an hourly shuttle train between Anniesland and Ashfield for the duration of the works.
However, following intervention by Maryhill and Springburn MSP Bob Doris, the rail operator has agreed to run two additional buses during the early morning and evening rush hour. He has also asked Scotrail to consider compensating season ticket holders.
He said: "Services will be severely disrupted until the 8th of July.
"However on this occasion the matter is the responsibility of Network Rail and it has significantly impacted Scotrail services.
"Having been briefed on various technical matter it does appear that running a more extensive service beyond an hourly service is not realistic.
"However following our discussions Scotrail will now run a shuttle bus service from Ashfield station to Queen Street station throughout the day.
"They will also lay on two additional buses each morning and evening at rush hour to take passengers between Anniesland and Queen Street, serving each station on the Maryhill line."
"I have also asked Scotrail to reconsider compensation for season ticket holder and I have been promised an update next week.
"Whilst I welcome the additional measures secured, there will still be significant disruption and inconvenience over the next few weeks. I have requested regular updates.
