CASTLEMILK cops made several arrests during a day of action as part of Operation Venetic.

We reported last week that cops had been put back into the heart of the Castlemilk community to tackle crime.

Three separate addresses were searched under warrant and a 43-year-old was arrested for possession of drugs.

During patrols of the area one man, aged 33, was arrested in connection with an outstanding warrant. Two men, aged 16 and 33, were arrested for breach of the peace in connection with two separate incidents.

A 30-year-old man will also be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal after he was stopped and searched ,and found to be in possession of drugs.

A 48 year-old man will be subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal for drinking in the street.

Road Policing officers also carried out 76 vehicle checks and stopped 49 people with three people being reported for various road traffic offences. (27 vehicles were moving vehicles checks whilst officers were on patrol.)

Routine checks were also made at 20 addresses and four licenced premises with no criminality established.
