Newly appointed Gers boss Steven Gerrard popped in for a meal at one of Glasgow's most popular Indian restaurants last night. 

The former Liverpool star paid a visit to Mr Singh's India in Elderslie Street, where the staff made him very welcome.

Posting a picture of the football manager on their Facebook page, the restaurant wrote: "Great to see Steven Gerrard come in for some famous Mister Singh's hospitality..... #HomeOfTheStars"

One fan commented on the photo, which has received more than 1,000 likes, asking what the Gers boss had to eat.

Gary Young wrote: "What did he get to eat ?.... Is there a Stevie Ghee special yet?.."

Another Sammi Brannigan wrote: "Best ruby murray you'll ever have in there Stevie boy."

Mr Singh's is also a popular spot with Rangers legend Paul Gascoigne who is regularly photographed at the venue, enjoying some banter with the staff.

The restaurant also posted a photograph with Lord of the Rings actor Billy Boyd, who enjoyed one of their world famous curries last month.

Gerrard met up with his full squad for the first time as they returned for pre-season training on Friday.

As reported by the Evening Times, his priority is to get the men fit for his debut Ladbrokes Premiership campaign and not to become obsessed with Celtic.
