AN EXCITED Garrowhill woman is our latest Evening Times bingo winner.

Mary Duncan, of Stephen Crescent, is the latest winner in our competition to nab £500 from a weekly bingo card, which can be found in Friday's copy of the Evening Times.

The Stephen Crescent resident has been on a winning streak lately, picking up both The Wee Stinker and The Clootie prize from our sister title The Herald earlier this year, but it was the bingo prize which sealed the the deal for Mrs Duncan to make a long awaited change.

She said: "I couldn't justify getting a new sofa and chairs and things as I only got them a year-and-a-half-ago but I've never liked them.

"I had discovered an old account that I had forgotten about when I retired in 2000 so with that, alongside the £500, I knew it was time to get a new one.

"Everybody is quite pleased for me."

Mrs Duncan added: "My husband and I have great-grandchildren and grandchildren - there's 27 of them - so I couldn't justify giving them all something.

"Everybody said 'treat yourself' so I'm treating myself to a new chair."

The competition will see 10 lucky winners nab the cash until July 20, with a new set of numbers featured in the paper every Friday.
