DETECTIVES have released an image of a man they wish to speak to after a woman was assaulted in Glasgow city centre.

The woman was walking on a footpath near to the Tesco Bank on Cowcaddens Road when she was approached by a man who then assaulted her.

The assault happened at around 9.20pm on Thursday, November 30.

Officers are releasing a CCTV image of a man that they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries. He is described as white and he was wearing a black North Face jacket, dark trousers and black shoes. He also spoke with an Ayrshire or North Lanarkshire accent.

Detective Constable Ashleigh Kinghorn, from Greater Glasgow’s Public Protection Unit, said: “Prior to the incident the female had been walking through Glasgow City Centre having earlier been with her friend in Renfield Street”.

“I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in the image to please come forward as it is important that we speak to him as part of our enquiries.
