A GOVAN community cafe will close its doors for good tomorrow.

LUV Cafe on Govan Road confirmed to customers on social media that they were "very sad" to close after 14 years.

Glasgow Times:

A statement by the cafe on social media said: "We are very sad to announce after almost 14 years, LUV cafe will close our doors for the final time on Wednesday, June 20.

"Reluctantly, Linthouse housing Association and the LUV board have taken the decision of closing the cafe as it is seen not to be in the tenants best interests any longer.

"Nicki, Mary, Margaret and Jules would like to take this opportunity to thank all our amazing, loyal and LUVly customers, many of whom have become dear dear friends.

"The cafe would have been unable to maintain its friendly, homely community vibe without our fab visitors and many many regulars.

"From our mums who need that coffee after the school run to our unofficial bouncer Big Alex who can be found every morning from 7am at the end of the counter. From the people that grab a quick takeaway en-route to work and the customers that find comfort in a bowl of soup and a book quietly in the corner, and to all of the many friends we have had the pleasure of meeting over the years.

"We thank each and every single one of you from the bottom of our hearts (actual tears as I type)."
