RESIDENTS evacuated from their homes after the fire at Glasgow School of Art have been hit with a parking ban.
Parking bays in Garnethill, outwith the cordon, are understood to have been 'suspended' by the council as investigations continue to establish the cause of Friday's fire which gutted the world-famous Mackintosh building.
Council workers were out this morning placing cones on Buccleuch Street, from Scott Street to Garnethill Street, blocking permit bays.
Dozens of residents were evacuated from their homes after the fire, with many still to return including some who live on Dalhousie Street.
Bill Becket, of Garnethill community council, said: "It's outrageous. "Residents and suffered enough.
"The latest reports are that everything has eased a bit and we are trying to get people home and the area back to normal and this is only going to create more problems for residents.
"The area is already short on parking. Residents are entitled to park at home. There could be disabled people who require access for a vehicle."
A council spokesman, however, said: "Our colleagues in LES are working to implement new traffic arrangements to keep the area moving while the newly-reduced exclusion zone remains in place."
It's expected full details of said new measures will be issued tomorrow.
