COPS believe an attack involving a man who was repeatedly stabbed while sitting in his friend's work van could be linked to serious and organised crime.

The brutal hit on the 30-year-old happened in broad daylight in the leafy village of Torrance on Tuesday at around 5.20pm.

The criminal gang behind the violent and targeted attack boxed their victim in to carry out the hit.
