A MAN has been arrested after cops discovered a large number of prohibited firearms at a delivery courier company in Glasgow's East End.

The 44-year-old was arrested in Broomhill today by detectives in the Greater Glasgow Serious and Organised crime unit.

A property on Broomhill Drive was entered under warrant at around 5am and he was arrested in connection with alleged firearms offences.

Glasgow Times:

It follows the recovery of a large number of prohibited firearms discovered at a delivery courier company in Fullarton Drive, Tollcross on June 11.

The man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.

Detective Chief Inspector Fergus Hutcheson, above, said: “This operation has resulted in a significant number of weapons being seized, thereby reducing the harm they may have posed.

"We remain committed to protecting the public and we will continue to target anyone involved in criminal activity which potentially causes our communities harm.

"If anyone has any concerns regarding suspicious or criminal activity they can be assured that police will act.”
