Glasgow will enjoy temperatures as hot as Spain with the mercury set to soar to a sizzling 25C, just in time for the city's biggest festival weekend.
The scorching heatwave will culminate next Wednesday, after a weekend of wall-to-wall sunshine around the UK.
The blistering 25C peak will match highs in sunny holiday hot spots in southern Spain.
Martin Bowles, operational meteorologist at the Met Office, said: “There’s widespread sunshine for several days due.

“Over the weekend it’s going to stay sunny across the board almost everywhere.
“The temperature will be up a little bit each day.”
The good weather will hit Glasgow on Sunday, with temperatures reaching 18C, going up to 22C by Monday and 25C by Wednesday.
Festival-goers are also in for a treat as Friday, Saturday and Sunday of next weekend will see the sun shine.

Temperatures could reach 27C on Friday as the Fiesta x FOLD and TRNSMT festival get underway.
