A BROADCASTER is to stand trial charged with raping a 12-year-old girl in France.
Bryce Curdy today faced the accusation at the High Court in Glasgow.
The 66-year-old is said to have attacked the child on various occasions between April and August 2012 at an address in Puissalicon in the South of France.
The allegation claims the girl was seized by the arms and held down, causing her head to hit a table.
It is further claimed Mr Curdy did “threaten to kill her and her mother”.
Lorenzo Alonzi, defending, pled not guilty on his behalf.
Prosecutor Iain McSporran QC said he was ready for a trial to be set.
Lord Beckett fixed a trial due to begin in September.
Bail for Mr Curdy, of Ayr, South Ayrshire, was continued meantime.
Mr Curdy had previously been with STV and had worked for Radio Clyde, West Sound and Smooth Radio.
