A YOUNG man was slashed twice during a fight at a flat in Cathcart.

The 18-year-old received injuries to his ear and arm after a gang of youths armed with batons tried to gain entry to the property in Struan Road at around 1.35am on Sunday.

A fight broke out, which spilled into the street, and the gang, described as four or five men in their late teens/early twenties, made off in a car.

The injured teenager was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was later released after treatment.

Three other men were injured in the attack, but they did not require medical treatment.

The Evening Times understands Police Scotland are following a positive line of enquiry.

A force spokesman said: "Around 1.35am on Sunday, June 24, four or five men in their late teens/early twenties attended at a flat in Struan Road, Cathcart which lead to a disturbance spilling out into the street.

"Four men were injured in the incident including one-18-year old who sustained a serious injury and was taken by police to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated and has since been released. The other three men did not require medical treatment. The suspects headed off in a car. Enquiries are continuing."
