A SPRINGBURN teenager that spat on a policewoman and attempted to bite another has been warned to get her act in order – or face being jailed.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court this week, Margaret Hutcheon, 19, was due to be sentenced for a number of assaults but failed to organise a defence lawyer. In addition, the previously ordered Criminal Justice Social Work report was also not available as the teen did not cooperate with its preparation.

The accused previously pleaded guilty to punching two men in Union Street on December 9, 2016. She also admitted attempting to bite a female sergeant and spitting on a constable within the City Centre police station on June 1, 2017.

Sheriff Anthony Deutsch reluctantly deferred the case, warning the accused that she would most likely be jailed if she did not cooperate.

Hutcheon, of Springburn Way, will return to court on July 23.
