STAFF at Glasgow Central have been forced to hand out water to massive crowds waiting in sweltering heat after the city was plunged into travel chaos following a signalling fault.
As previously reported, a signalling fault between Glasgow Central and Paisley Gilmour Street resulted in dozens of trains being cancelled or significantly delayed.
The problem was resolved shortly after but has since re-occurred leaving hundreds of people stranded in the city centre station.

A further signalling fault also occurred at Cumbernauld, affecting services to Dumbarton, Falkirk, Milngavie and Motherwell.
Angry passengers described the situation as an "absolute joke" and branded the station "a greenhouse" in the rising temperatures.
@ScotRail 2 HOURS in a train outside Glasgow central is ridiculous!! Thankfully not my normal train, but that is not cool..
