TAKE That had a comeback like no other when they re-formed in 2005 after their 90s success - and went on to create even more chart-topping hits.

And now the pop band seem to be having a resurgence again thanks to new musical The Band which features some of their best hits.

Take That’s music, however, is not the only star of this musical, as a strong narrative gives the backdrop to a story which centres around female friendship.

Without giving too much of the plot away, the musical takes audiences back on a nostalgic trip to the 90s when every teenager was glued to their TVs on a Thursday night to watch Top of the Pops. A group of 16-year-old’s welcome the audience into their world where ‘The Band’ is everything.

They then reunite 25 years later as their favourite boyband get together for a reunion tour - and the music helps guide the story.

For Take That fans, this show will bring home the talent of Gary Barlow and the other members of the band. Their lyrics are so powerful and poignant during some of the most dramatic scenes of the show.

While the band’s original choreography from their first run in the 90s also features heavily and will offer nostalgia to fans of Take That.

For the musical theatre fans, the show explores themes of broken dreams and friendship, which allows the audience to experience a range of emotions.

While the vocals of The Band, chosen from reality series Let It Shine, impressed throughout especially AJ Bentley who had a beautiful tone to his voice.

Shine, Pray, Relight My Fire, The Flood and The Garden are some of the hits on offer throughout the show.

Jukebox musicals will always be popular with theatre fans but this show has more than that. The storyline was just so unexpected and powerful, it is definitely one show to “never forget”.
