Dozens of colourful flares have been set off at TRNSMT festival as Castlemilk-born star Gerry Cinnamon took to the stage.

Despite pyrotechnics being banned from the site, a sea of blue, red and white smoke filled the air as the singer appeared in front of the crowds on the main stage.

The 32-year-old Scot was unphased by the clouds of smoke billowing up through the air, shouting out to the crowd: "No pyro, no party!"

He then went on to perform his first song, Lullaby as more smoke appeared amongst the revellers.

Police Scotland issued a warning to those who set off smoke devices and flares at the festival, stating they would risk criminal prosecution.

In a list of their TRNSMT guidelines it read: "Please do not attempt to bring in flares, smoke devices or other pyrotechnics.

"You will be denied entry to the event. Setting off flares, smoke devices and other pyrotechnics within the stadium is an offence.

"Anyone who does so risks criminal prosecution. Recorded CCTV will be used to identify individuals and investigations will be pursued following the festival."
