TWO hikers took in the stunning panorama from the SNOW-covered summit of Ben Nevis as the UK basked in scorching temperatures.
Ian Barrow, 46, and David Whittaker, 48, both mechanical design engineers took a weekend break to sun kissed Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.
The former colleagues and friends of nearly 25 years camped in Glen Nevis campsite near the foot of the UK's highest mountain, before deciding to hike the 1,345 metre munro.
Ian, from Dunkinfield near Manchester, said: "David and I booked it a few weeks ago. We didn't expect the weather to be so good.
"We wanted to do Scafell Pike but decided to head up north instead. We arrived at the campsite on Fri, had a bbq and a few beers and then decided to go up Ben Nevis the next morning.
"The hike was beautiful, I couldn't take it all in. It was like something from a movie, the view was so clear from the top.
"We spent about 10 hours on the mountain before heading down to the Ben Nevis Inn for a few cheeky pints."
"I'll definitely be back, the scenery was stunning."
