A BUSY pedestrian bridge in Glasgow has been closed after police recovered a body from the River Clyde.
The Tradeston Bridge - also known as the Squiggly Bridge - has seen officers rush to the scene after the body of a man was pulled from the water near the Kingston Bridge.
A social media user claimed this morning that she saw “a body on the dock.”
She said: “Tradeston bridge closed there is a body on the dock covered with a white sheet and police there stay clear if u normally walk over it. #rip to the poor soul.”
The bridge provides a direct link to the Glasgow’s financial district on the western side of the City Centre, just over the River Clyde.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Evening Times: “Police received a call at 6.30am to a report of the body of a man in the water near the Kingston Bridge.
“Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.
“The Tradeston Bridge is closed to pedestrians.”
