THE second release of the hugely-popular ‘Maryhill Locks’ development in Glasgow takes place today.

Comprising a mix of 33 three and four bedroom terraced family townhouses, situated on Lochgilp Street, the new phase follows the successful Whitelaw Street phase, which sold out weeks after being announced.

The craft homes will be designed and off-site manufactured in Glasgow.

Prices start at £202,500 for a three-bedroom home.

Each townhouse in the new phase will look into park space and the River Kelvin valley, with the three-bedroom homes all featuring a private roof terrace.

With contemporary, split level living - which places the main lounge and kitchen spaces on the first floor - access to a rear garden is from abridge deck over a patio below.

Further shared social space will also be incorporated to the rear of the development.

Minutes on public transport from the West End, Maryhill Locks has proved popular with buyers looking for a spacious home with a garden and green space in close proximity to the West End and City Centre.

Many buyers have welcomed the opportunity to stay in the area which offers a large number of traffic-free and safe cycling and walking routes between the Glasgow Canal and the River Kelvin.

Katie Hughes, director of developer Bigg Regeneration, said: “It was very clear from previous phases at Maryhill Locks that there is huge demand from the local area and neighbouring West End for three and four bedroom homes at realistic prices.

“These 33 homes will meet this demand and underline that it is entirely possible to create spacious homes with gardens in a thriving environment, that are achievable for people who don't want to have to move miles away.

“Previous phases have sold very quickly so we anticipate high demand for these homes, as new-build houses with gardens in the West End are a rarity in the Glasgow market.”

The second phase takes place on July 4 at 6pm at Clyde West End, Byres Road.
