A search has been launched for a missing man from Maryhill who may have travelled to Ayrshire.

David Ross was last seen on July 1 around 8pm but is thought to have left his home on Guthrie Street between 8am and 9am the next day.

The 27-year-old has never gone missing before and the alarm was raised after he failed to turn up to work.

David is described as white, 5 ft 8, of slim build with brown eyes, a fair complexion, stubble and shaved auburn hair.

He also has a tattoo which said 'DAD' on the right hand side of his neck and is believed to be wearing either red or black shorts, black socks and black trainers.

At the time of disappearance he had a black Nike rucksack and black mountain bike in his possession.

Police Constable Darren Dickson, Baird Street Police Office, said: "As time passes we are becoming increasingly concerned for David, who has never went missing before.

"Concern was raised when he did not turn up for work and nobody had heard from him.

"We know he has his phone with him and have reason to believe he may have travelled to Ayrshire.

"Officers have been checking CCTV, speaking to friends and family and have also had partner agencies supporting searches in Ayrshire, as well as Glasgow.

"We would appeal to anyone who knows of his whereabouts or has seen anyone matching his description to come forward and contact us. We would also ask anyone who may have seen an abandoned black mountain bike to let us know.

"He has a very distinctive tattoo on his neck and we would hope this would have been memorable for people who may have seen him."

Anyone with information should contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 0028 of Tuesday 3 July 2018.
