A FAR-RIGHT politician has been warned to stay away from Scotland – or face being run out of the country.

Anne Marie Waters, the founder and leader of the anti-Islam party For Britain, told her Twitter followers that she was planning to visit Glasgow next month.

She initially posted: "I'm very much looking forward to visiting Scotland in August.

"I look forward to exposing the SNP and giving the Scottish people a real alternative to open-border, pro-EU, Islam-appeasing madness."

While some people said they were looking forward to her visit, others were not so pleased.

In response, Laura Smith posted: You'll get the same welcome Nige [Nigel Farage] got...run out of town along with your bile."

David Kirkwood agreed: "What you stand for is not welcome in Scotland."

Drew Wingate added: "You are not welcome."

Other Twitter users had fun with their responses.

Jessie Alba posted: "Sorry, hen. Scotland closes in August for the government work camps where we're forced to make tablet for 18 hours a day. Maybe some other time."

Fiona White added: "I very much doubt anyone will notice, but enjoy our beautiful scenery while you're here."

Having unsuccessfully attempted to become a Labour Party parliamentary candidate, Waters joined the UK Independence Party (UKIP) and stood in its 2017 leadership election. She came second, with Henry Bolton winning. She subsequently left UKIP to form her own party, For Britain, in October 2017.

The For Britain party brands itself as the "the common sense majority".

On its website, it states: "We’re tired of having no voice. We’re tired of being told to stay quiet.

"The For Britain Movement is a positive, pro-British, pro-democracy party, which believes in preserving the culture and values of the decent British majority, and passing these on to future generations.

"We believe in the democratic mandate of the people, and therefore demand the UK’s complete withdrawal from the European Union without further delay.

"We believe in truth, justice, and freedom. We seek to create a Britain where the rule of law is upheld, and justice prevails over political convenience.

"We will restore freedom of speech as the backbone of the democratic system.

"We sit neither on the Left nor the Right, we are the decent, fair, common sense majority whose voice has been ignored for too long."
