A DAD has slammed thugs who scrawled anti-Semitic graffiti in a child's playground.

The grotesque message is written in black ink in a play park in Kirkintilloch where children can easily read it.

Racist vandals used a noughts and crosses game to leave their appalling message.

Dad James McEnany spotted the graffiti when taking his young son to the playground off Loch Road this morning.

James said the council should deal with the graffiti as a matter of urgency.

Among other anti-Jewish words, the writing reads: "Burn the profligates and burn thy Jewden a****."

James said: "My boy isn't old enough to understand any of this but my concern is that he's more than capable of copying the shapes.

"I don't know how long it has been there but the council needs to get rid of it immediately and make sure it doesn't happen again.

"Whoever is responsible should also be prosecuted."

Thomas Glen, Depute Chief Executive - Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets at East Dunbartonshire Council, said: "We received a complaint earlier today concerning anti-Semitic graffiti on the children's play equipment at Loch Road swing park in Kirkintilloch.

"As soon as the information was received, a team was despatched immediately to remove the offensive material.

"Our Community Safely officers will report the incident to the police and we would urge anyone with information to contact Police Scotland immediately."
