Concierge workers at a GHA owned tower block have allegedly been sacked for sleeping on the job.

Two workers are said to have been caught watching television and sleeping while working in the Townhead area.

Their negligence has been described as ‘putting lives at risk’ and GHA bosses are currently carrying out an internal investigation.

A GHA spokesperson said: “We expect the highest standards of conduct from our staff at all times and do not tolerate any activity which does not meet these standards.”

In 2015, five concierges at a Glasgow high rise complex were sacked amid concerns over drug dealing.

The men were dismissed by the city's biggest social landlord after CCTV was allegedly switched off, allowing criminals in to the buildings unseen.
