POLICE are on the hunt after a Hamilton business was deliberately set alight twice in one day.

Around 6am on Sunday, July 15, a man entered Raeburn Drilling and Geotechnical Ltd. on Whistleberyy Road and started a fire within the yard.

Around 4am on Monday, July 16, a man, who is believed to be the same man as the previous morning, entered the yard and started another fire.

The man is described as being aged between 20 and 30-years-old.

On the first instance he was wearing a dark coloured hooded tracksuit, with a white logo on the chest and a while logo on his left trouser leg.

He also had on black trainers.

Detective Constable Derek Young, Cambuslang CID, said: “Setting any fire is dangerous and reckless and whoever is responsible here has caused considerable damage to a family business.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries in the area, speaking to those who live and work nearby as well as checking CCTV.

“We are appealing to anyone who may know anything about either of these incidents, or were out early on Sunday or Monday who have seen anything out of the ordinary in the area, to get in touch with us.”
