A STRANGER punched a young man in the face while he was travelling home from work on Glasgow's subway system.

Transport cops are hunting for the thug who carried out the violent and unprovoked assault at Partick subway station.

The 25-year-old victim was travelling home from work when he was approached by a man he did not know who punched him in the face.

The attack happened at around 7.30pm on July 12.

Transport cops said it was an unprovoked and violent attack which left the victim with bruising and swelling to his face.

The suspect was white, around 5ft 9inches and is believed to be aged 30.

He was of a large build and had stubble. He was wearing a dark baseball cup and a blue polo shirt.

The subway was very busy at this time and officers believe there could have been a number of passengers who witnessed what happened.
