SCOTTISH TV star Lorraine Kelly has divided Twitter after using an old Scottish word during a message to a kind-hearted samaritian who ran after her after she left her money in an ATM.

The 58-year-old told her fans on social media that she "was in a dwam" when she accidentally left her cash behind.

The Scottish phrase means being in a daze or having a daydream.

Lorraine said: "To the gorgeous kind-hearted young fella who ran after me when I left my money in the hole in the wall on Victoria Street because I was in a dwam - thank you! You are a prince amongst men!"

The message was instantly a hit with Scots who admitted that they had not heard the phrase in a long time.

A few Twitter users, however, admitted that they had no clue what the word means.
