A HUGE street brawl has broken out near Ibrox.

Social media users have posted videos and images of the carnage on Paisley Road West, with one describing the scene as “total gridlock” while police rushed to the area.

One man wrote: “Massive fight at Ibrox between Rangers fans and who the f*** knows else. Fire, bottles, rocks, and a lot of police on the scene.

“Madness continued, even after the police arrived.

“People are f****** morons.”

He later added: “The helicopters are out, along with mounted units, bikes, cars and vans. Paisley Road West is in total gridlock. Two to three dozen officers blockading one area out of view.”

Police Scotland could not be reached for comment.

Rangers are taking on Osijek in the Europa League at Ibrox this evening.

The running battle comes in the same week as another mass fight took place in Glasgow City Centre.

As previously reported by the Evening Times, two men were assaulted after the large-scale, street battle following the pre-season friendly match between Rangers and Wigan Athletic at Ibrox on Sunday evening.

Shocking and violent footage of the running battle on Hope Street, next to Glasgow Central Station, appeared on social media.

Police Scotland said it would liaise with British Transport Police to investigate the incident.

Travelling Wigan support had been in the city to watch their side play Rangers at Ibrox Stadium. The match ended 3-0 to Rangers.
