An appeal has been launched after a man was seriously assaulted outside a Glasgow restaurant.
The 43-year-old man was on Union Street around 2.30am on Sunday August 5 when he was attacked.
The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for his injuries.
The suspect is described as being Asian and in his early to mid-20s, around 5ft 10 and of slim build with black hair.
He was wearing a red sports style zip up top.
Detective Constable Victoria Shanley, Stewart Street Police Office, said:“We are appealing to anyone who was in Glasgow city centre in the early hours of this morning who may have seen something that can help us with our investigation.
"At this point we don't know why the attack happened and therefore any small piece of information may be able to help us.
“Our officers are checking CCTV and speaking to those in the area where the attack took place but want to speak to anyone who may have been nearby at the time.
"Anyone with information should contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 0741 of Sunday 5 August 2018. Alternatively you can contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where information can be given in confidence."
