Fans of Still Game have been given a gift by creators as they begin filming of the final series.

Filming is now underway for what promises to be a ‘must-see’ finale for fans across the country.

Still Game burst onto screens in 2002 and became the most-watched TV programme in over a decade in Scotland attracting more than half of the viewing audience when it returned in 2016 after a nine year hiatus.

The final series, written and starring Greg Hemphill and Ford Kiernan, will reunite all of Craiglang’s comedy pals including Jane McCarry (Isa), Sanjeev Kohli (Navid), Gavin Mitchell (Boabby), Paul Riley (Winston) and Mark Cox (Tam) for six episodes.

The duo decided it was time to retire from the small screen earlier this year.

During the show’s break from the small screen Kiernan and Hemphill wrote a stage show for the characters which ran at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.
