Buchanan Galleries' Refill Me allows guests to easily identify where reusable water bottles can be refilled with no obligation to purchase.

Since the campaign launched last week, a total of ten centre eateries have signed up to take part, including Starbucks, Costa, Mr Pretzels, Greggs and Krispy Kreme.

The new campaign is part of the centre’s wider green strategy, which includes a zero waste to landfill policy, the encouragement of waste segregation by having recycling bins in the malls and the working through of a LED lighting installation programme, of which the ‘back of house’ areas and multi-storey car park have already been completed.

Kathy Murdoch, general manager of Buchanan Galleries, said: “Refill Me is a fantastic initiative, which we are proud to be a part of. By encouraging people to reuse their water bottles and refill, it helps reduce the tonnes of plastic that end up in landfills and oceans.

“It is our duty to be environmentally conscious, so this is a step in the right direction to ensure we are doing our bit to help reduce the plastic that is put into the environment and we would encourage our customers to get involved in Refill Me while at the centre.”
