As the beating heart of the city's Eurpoean Championships Festival, George Square has played host to a number of performances over the last two weeks and today is no exception. 

Kicking off from 11am, the stage will welcome a number of musicians and singers to keep everyone entertained with a full day of festivities.

George Square will host three musical acts with links to both Glasgow and Berlin. The event aims to celebrate the importance of European relationships and the potential creative possibilities.

Here's what's on today: 

11am - Jumpers for Goalposts: Bringing folk songs with a modern sensibility, all played with foot-stomping positivity.

12.30pm - Berrie Big Band: Glasgow-based 18-piece ensemble. In addition to the occasional big band classic, they enjoy encorporating the likes of Kraftwerk, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and their favourite TV & movie themes.

13.45pm - Esperanza: Esperanza are a nine-piece ska collective from Glasgow famed for live shows where their infectious rhythm has the crowd involuntarily jumping in time. 

15.15pm - JR Green: Two brothers from Strontian, a remote Scottish village a few miles from the most westerly point on mainland Britain, bringing a more youthful, virile edge to folk and traditional music.

16.30pm - Say Awards Long List Special: A rundown of the 20 albums which form the longlist of the coveted Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award. Featuring a special performance from Free Love

19.15pm - Molly Nilsson: The Swedish writer and producer, who does it all for herself, currently lives in Berlin and has released 5 LPs + 1 EP, most recently on Glasgow’s Night School Records.

20.15pm - Konx-Om-Pax: A Scottish electronic musician and graphical artist from Glasgow. As a producer, he has released two LPs on Planet Mu. Tom now resides in Berlin.

21.15pm - SUMS: A new collaboration between Kangding Ray, an electronic musician, drum wizard Merlin Ettoreand and Barry Burns, multi-instrumentalist and composer in the Scottish band Mogwai.

The European Championships will draw to a close tomorrow and Celtic Connections will be the final act to take the George Square stage with a free concert and party.

Fèis Phàislig Ceilidh Trail will open the evening’s entertainment and mark their final performance of a two week summer tour especially for Festival 2018.

Also taking the stage will be Siobhan Miller Band,Shooglenifty, Fatoumata Diawara and many more.
