Drivers and bus users faced another day of disruption in Glasgow on the final day of the European Championships.

Roads were again closed for a road cycling even with the city centre with more than 30 closures in the city centre, west end and Glasgow Green areas for the men’s road race.

With gymnastics event at the Hydro, the closing ceremony event in George Square and 50,000 fans at Ibrox for Rangers v St Mirren just across the river Clyde it meant public transport was also busy.

The was the third day of road closures after more than 100 roads were closed last Wednesday for the men and Women’s time trail cycling.

Drivers were met with ‘road closed ahead’ signs at several points in the city and alternative routes not easy to find to get into the city centre with key roads and junctions, including Charing Cross and St Vincent Street completely closed off.

The closures caused bottlenecks at certain points as roads were shut from 6am on Sunday and didn’t begin to be re-opened in a phased manner until 6.30 pm.
