A MUM twice left unconscious as part of a three-hour rape and beating has told how she tried to save the life of her attacker.

Jade Rosbotham tried to resuscitate Nikolas Pirrie after he battered her and raped her in front of their young son.

Jade, who waived her right to anonymity, told how she tried to follow instructions from emergency call handlers but could not save him.

Now Jade wants other women in abusive relationships to think twice before standing by their man.

She told the Daily Record: “Folk have been saying it was me that killed him, that I hurt myself to get the bruises, and that I’ve bribed my neighbours. It’s just nonsense.

“They’re making him out to be this great guy but he’s not. He was an animal – he was far from perfect.

“I want other women in abusive relationships to think twice about sticking with someone.

“They don’t have to – help is out there, but it’s important to get out at the first sign of abuse.”

The pair got together in August 2016 after they were introduced by friends. Pirrie - who was found guilty of sending abusive text messages to an ex in 2017 - was 26 and Jade 18.

The then-teenager said everything was “perfect” to begin with and she fell in love with her suitor.

But what started out as “wee digs” soon became beatings, and Pirrie showed his possessive and jealous nature.

Jade first called the police on Pirrie on May 29, 2017, after he beat her with a dumbbell pole.

She thought she had lost the couple’s child but thankfully the baby was okay.

Pirrie was arrested and the case went to trial in March this year.

He pled guilty and was sentenced to nine months in prison, serving half that before being released on July 20, at which time Jade had moved to Irvine.

And that was the beginning of the end for the brute, who lost his temper and “came in all guns blazing” last week.

Jade said Pirrie was looking at his phone when “a switch just flicked”.

She said: “The type of house it is, the stairs are in the living room - our couch was under the stairs and he got up, grabbed the bannister and used it as leverage to jump up and down on me full force.

“But when we got down, he offered me a fag and just sat there as if everything was normal.

“I was so scared to do or say anything to set him off – then he just lost it again and that’s when I passed out.

“I woke up and he wasn’t there. I was struggling for breath and coughing - he must have heard me because he came barging back in and told me if I didn’t stop screaming things would get a lot worse - I just thought, ‘how can they’?

“He dragged me up stairs and beat me and raped me in front of our son.

"The rape felt like it went on forever but it was only about five minutes - the whole thing must have gone on for about three hours.”

Pirrie left Jade in a heap and went downstairs. Ten minutes later she found that he had taken his own life.

She tried to help but “couldn’t do anything”.

She said: “I spoke with the emergency services on the phone and they told me what to do, but it was too late. Five minutes later the police were at my door.”

Police Scotland confirmed they were called to the house around 11.10pm last Monday where they found Pirrie, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman said: “There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

"A 20-year-old woman was also found injured and was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital.

“The woman is reported to have been assaulted and subjected to a serious sexual assault within the property on the Monday night.”

In November 2015 Pirrie admitted trying to stop his then partner from leaving his house after an argument.

And in February that year he was fined £540 after admitting pushing and repeatedly punching a man on the face at a house in Bonnyton Road, Kilmarnock.

In March 2017, Pirrie was made subject to a non-harassment order barring him from any contact with his ex for two years.

That’s after he bombarded her with more than 100 text messages and phone calls in one day.

He was found guilty of acting in a threatening or abusive manner by sending unwanted and abusive messages to the woman in December 2015.

In the messages, possessive Pirrie made the girl feel “uncomfortable and scared” by calling her “a whore and a slut” and threatening to "batter" her brother.
