DRUMCHAPEL-born actor James McAvoy has been injured fighting a clown.

The Scot told his fans on social media that he has a double thigh strain caused by fighting famous clown Pennywise while filming for the sequel to IT.

James McAvoy plays the adult version of Jaeden Lieberher’s Bill Denbrough in the new movie.

“In the wake of underwhelming public concern but a couple of weirdly concerned internet celeb sites I’d like to let you all know that I’m doing just fine,” he wrote alongside an image of his legs with cold packs on them.

“Slight double thigh strain, caught it early, no worries. Pennywise look out.”

IT: Chapter 2 focuses on the adult versions of the Losers' Club, consisting of: James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak, Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, Andy Bean as Stan Uris, Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon.
