STUDENTS accepted to Glasgow universities have been offered a free stay in the city at a new, purpose built accommodation.

Until September 2, young people and their families can attend Student Roost's St Mungo's property near Cathedral Street to sample city life before arriving in Glasgow for the new term next month.

The new state-of-the-art shared home will house 349 young people across a variety of en suite and studio rooms.

But before it officially welcomes students on September 8, the invitation to stay for up to two nights and explore the city is open to any student and their family who has an offer to study in Glasgow.

John Stevenson, Scotland area manager for Student Roost, said: “Glasgow is one of the UK’s most desirable cities to study in and it’s no wonder as the university life is second to none, so it’s imperative that student accommodation meets this standard also.

“We wanted to bring this to life and are excited to open the doors for students – and their families – to come in early free of charge, so people can get their feet under the table in the city before term starts.

“They also have the added benefit of being the first people to enjoy everything this amazing property has to offer.”
