The Evening Times understands that at least 22 lifebelts were in the stretch of water close to BBC headquarters on Tuesday morning.

Police Scotland confirmed that a 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He was charged with culpable and reckless conduct.

The force added that a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
