THERE are long tailbacks on the M80 this afternoon after a lorry burst into flames.
The incident has taken place on the route southbound at junction 6 Old Inns.

Shortly after 1.30pm, Traffic Scotland wrote on Twitter: “Fire service closing lane 1 due to a lorry fire #M80 S/B J6 Old Inns - J5 Auchenkilns. Traffic queuing on approach.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 1.17pm to reports of a lorry on fire near Cumbernauld.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire engines to the M80, between junctions five and six, where firefighters extinguished a fire within the heavy goods vehicle.
“Firefighters left the scene after ensuring the area had been made safe.”
