Easter Saturday has been the warmest day of the year so far - and has broken Glasgow records.

Temperatures reached 23C in the city centre, with Scots flocking to Kelvingrove Park and Glasgow Green to enjoy the sunshine.

It wasn't only Glasgow experiencing record highs - the Met Office say that todays temperatures are around 10C higher in some areas than the average for this time of year.

Hampshire enjoyed 25.5C in Gosport, with London hitting 25C and Cardiff reaching 24C.

Glasgow must have kept all the sunshine for itself, however, with northern Scotland experiencing a mostly dry and chilly day, with quite a bit of rain.

Tonight, the Met Office say low cloud, mist and patchy rain will occur in areas close to the city centre, but it should clear throughout the night.

Glasgow's set for another scorcher tomorrow, with highs of around 20C and clear, sunny spells during the day.
