A MAN who allegedly had coronavirus symptoms failed to tell a police officer who later tested positive.

Alan Brown, 44, is accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at Glasgow's Orchard Care Home in the city's Toryglen on August 26 this year.

Court papers state Brown acted in an aggressive manner, repeatedly demanded entry as well as shouted and swore.

It is claimed he then repeatedly struck the door there and forced open a set of automatic doors in order to gain entry into the premises.

Brown's separate charge alleges that he culpably and recklessly failed to self-isolate while suffering from Coronavirus symptoms.

Brown is alleged to have failed to disclose that he was suffering from the symptoms while he was in close proximity to constables Nathan Wallace and Darren Miller.

It is stated Brown exposed them to risk of illness and infection.

PC Wallace is claimed to have subsequently tested positive for Coronavirus and suffered illness.

Brown pleaded not guilty to the two charges at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

A trial was fixed for June next year by sheriff Gerard Considine.
