£233m plan is revealed by council

A COUNCIL is investing £233million to protect frontline services.

North Ayrshire Council is to adopt a 10-year capital investment plan following the approval of its 2013/14 budget.

Elected members agreed to invest in early intervention, education and employment.

However, the council must find £19.6m of savings between now and 2016.

A total of £15.8m in savings have already been approved through cost-cutting.
