A LIVE wrestling show and a roller disco are highlights of two free family-friendly festivals happening in the East End this month.
Up-and-coming wrestling stars from the Iron Girders Gym on Gallowgate, run by Scottish WWE star Barry Young, aka Wolfgang, will take part in a live show at the Alexandra Park Festival Day on Saturday, July 22.
The wrestlers, including IGPW Champion Levi and Angel Hayze, will face off in the Ally Park Rumble.
The festival, one of two free East End events organised by Platform in Easterhouse this July, also includes live music, food and market stalls, kids’ activities and inflatables.
The Bridge Family Festival Day at The Bridge in Easterhouse will take place on July 29, featuring a free roller disco (with skates supplied).
Matt Addicott, artistic director for Platform, which is organising both festivals, said: “Both festivals will have performances, dancing, rides for children, art activities for everyone and loads of community groups and organisations will be hosting stalls too.
"We'll also have face painting, balloon modelling, sports activities and food and drinks to get stuck into – fun for all the family.”
