A shopping centre in the city has dished out a total of £2,000 to two charities that empower people with physical and learning disabilities.

The 77th Glasgow Disabled Scouts and musicALL are set to receive £1,000 each from Buchanan Galleries as it continues its investment in the Glasgow community.

The financial support will bolster the charities' impact, drive meaningful change and improve the lives local residents.

The backing comes from Buchanan Galleries’ owners, Landsec, via its social impact programme, Landsec Futures, a £20m fund.

Since April 2023, the shopping centre has awarded a total of £14,400 in grants to local community groups, contributing to the growth and wellbeing of the local area.

musicALL offers high-quality music opportunities to young people with physical or learning disabilities, visual impairment and neurodivergence, through free workshops, tutoring, rehearsals and performances.

The 77th Glasgow Disabled Scouts provide accessible Scouting programmes for young people aged six to 25 with physical disabilities and life-limiting conditions, striving towards building self-confidence, independence, and life skills.

The Landsec Futures Community Grants Scheme provides funding with grants between £1,000 and £3,000 to create positive change in the area.
