COUNCILS are to share £300 million to help with the construction of more affordable homes.
Housing Minister Margaret Burgess hailed the money as a "substantial funding boost that will support housebuilding across Scotland".
The cash windfall will help with the construction of more than 6000 affordable homes, including some 4000 council or housing association properties.
All of Scotland's 32 local authorities will receive a share of the cash.
