THIEVES have stolen thousands of pounds worth of lead flashing from the roofs of several shops in Bromsgrove.
The thefts are thought to have happened overnight between Friday, February 19, and Saturday, February 20.
The large quantity of flashing, was taken from the roofs of the Bromsgrove Cobblers, Smash and Grab, Clippers Haidressers, F.Hinds Jewellers, C.V Firminger & Co Financial Advisors and G & G Financial Services. Police say thieves caused extensive damage.
PC Catherine Fludgate said: “The offenders would probably have needed a flatbed lorry or similar vehicle to take that amount of lead away and must have been there for a considerable amount of time.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw any vehicles in unusual circumstances or anyone acting suspiciously to call us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should call PC Fludgate at Bromsgrove on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 0078-N-200110, or call crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
