CLACTON ABC travelled to the Civic Hall in Grays to compete in Chadwell St Mary’s Open.
First up was Billy Barke, against Tilbury Docker’s D Monk.
He started at a very fast pace, catching his opponent with fast left jabs and right crosses.
Round two saw more of the same.
Barke, however, gained a clear advantage over his opponent.
The third and final round saw him continuing to build on his successes and he took a unanimous decision.
Clacton’s Charlie Hearn was in action next against the hosts’ R Quigley.
The contest started with many fast exchanges of punches.
Hearn took the first round and his opponent the second.
The Clacton boxer stepped up the pace in the third round, unleashing hurtful combinations and dominating his tiring opponent.
He duly took a unanimous decision.
