Businesses are being urged by the Essex Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to check their business rate bills.
The bills currently arriving through the letter boxes of Braintree businesses are based on new rateable values which come into force from April 1.
Some FSB members elsewhere have spotted errors in the calculations of the size of premises and the way different parts of a building are being used after checking the rates.
