TWO anglers suffering mild hypothermia were rescued by Southend’s Atlantic 75 lifeboat early Sunday morning.
Around 9am the RNLI boat was launched into force 8 north westerly winds and heavy rain and seas.
A 17ft angling boat had reported engine failure off the West Leigh Middle marker bouy, south east of Canvey Island.
The incoming tide had taken the boat upstream and after a six mile voyage the lifeboat found the boat near Scars Elbow on the Canvey Coast.
The stricken boat was towed to Hole Haven on Canvey where it was met by an awaiting ambulance and the Canvey Coastguard unit.
